A NYC Loft Nursery
I definitely like a good challenge, but I will admit that turning our approximately 60 square foot loft space into a nursery has been an interesting experience. We hadn't done much with the space from a decor perspective previously, using it as an office/storage/yoga space and filling it with out of place furniture we had on hand when we moved in. The most we did from a “decor” perspective was to hang a few miscellaneous pieces of art that didn't go elsewhere in the apartment up on the walls. To add to the challenge, the space is open to the living room below so we needed to figure out something to block some of the light that streams in. As the ceiling is a bit lower than standard height there are no overhead lights so we’re forced to rely on lamps to light the space. We also needed to preserve the desk space, especially in this era of work-from-home.
After measuring and re-measuring and measuring again, and months of searching online for furniture that fit the space we were working with and our budget we put the space together little by little and I am so happy with how it has turned out.
